Microeconomic reform in Papua New Guinea: the big challenge.

This article examines the kinds of investment likely to provide income and employment opportunities in Papua New Guinea. Then, the microeconomic reforms needed for such investment to take place are considered. It then looks back over Papua New Guinea’s experiences with microeconomic reform to see why it has proven so difficult. Finally, it examines what the present government has done to implement the needed reforms.
